Jessica Fletcher The Western Front |

The one hit wonder “Hey Mickey” played through the speakers to welcome rapper Mickey Avalon to the stage at the Wild Buffalo, Thurday, Feb. 5.

Avalon's vulgar language referring to drugs, alcohol, women and prostitution got the crowd wild. With a packed venue, attendees didn’t care how close one another were to each other. People were pushing each other to hold their spot on the floor. All the crowd cared about was dancing, singing, drinking and getting as close as they could to Avalon to get a picture and possibly receive a handshake from him.

Everyone was getting crazy,...

This was supposed to just be an article about douche bags.

It was supposed to highlight a sleazy rapper with a drug-addled party complex that mirrored the underbelly of the equally sleazy frat scene found just a few miles from Phoenix. See, Mickey Avalon has his dual lives: he's a recovering addict, a former prostitute and drug dealer who picked up a crusty melody off the sticky floor of a Los Angeles bar, blew on it, and then wrapped it up in a slinky strip club package and sold it to listeners who wanted to feel just a little bit dirty...

No longer chewing the fat of the Aussie music festival scene, the Newcastle-based Fat As Butter (FAB) festival has called it quits on organising a 2014 event.

A result perhaps of spreading itself too thin, festival organisers put the cancellation of the festival down to not being able to create a good enough line up for punters. Stating this morning on their Facebook page;

"Despite 6 months of scouring the world we just haven’t been able to land a line up that we reckon you guys would come and play with."

With seven years of festivals under it's belt, this isn't the first time...

Mickey Avalon Sued Your Filthy Oven Shocked the Help

6/10/2014 12:20 AM PDT

It's gonna be way harder to find good help for rapper Mickey Avalon ... whose housekeeper claims she was practically electrocuted by his dirty oven.

Lula Malone claims she was cleaning the oven in Avalon's L.A. home last month when she was jolted by an electric shock ... according to the lawsuit she just filed.

Malone says she suffered serious injury and in the legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- she blames Avalon because his home and oven were "maintained in an unsafe manner." Malone doesn't explain any specific...

Mickey Avalon Heads Back to S.B.

L.A.’s Scene-Soaked Emcee Returns to the Fold

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Fittingly, so-called “glam rapper” Mickey Avalon made his first media appearance on MTV Cribs alongside fellow can’t-tell-if-they’re-serious-or-not white rapper Simon Rex (aka Dirt Nasty). It was Rex who would help launch Avalon’s musical career after the two first began writing verses for laughs while Avalon crashed on Rex’s couch.

The licentious whimsy with which Avalon delivers verses about his Sunset Strip exploits is the key to his ethos. Avalon (born Yeshe Perl) is a slightly built, long-haired grandson of Auschwitz survivors, who lost his father to a drunk-driving...

Mickey Avalon at Crocodile (Photo by Michael Profitt)

Photos by Michael Profitt

A diverse crowd of young and old enjoyed a very lively Mickey Avalon show at The Crocodile last weekend.  Playing his major hits, “What Do You Say,” “My Dick,” and “Jane Fonda,” Mickey sounded great.  And the dancers definitely added something very exciting to watch during the show!  Other than a couple of stage crashers (one woman and one guy), the crowd was full of energy all night.

Avalon’s tour continues through the end of June.
